Merpati Gunakan Indra Penciuman Sebagai Penunjuk Arah
Merpati pos terkenal karena kemampuannya untuk terbang pulang, bahkan ketika sedang berada di jarak ratusan mil. Studi terdahulu menemukan, bahwa ketika pulang kembali dari suatu lokasi asing, merpati mengandalkan indera pencium mereka sebagai penunjuk arah. Sebuah studi yang diterbitkan dalam Journal of Experimental Biology pada 27 Januari lalu, menunjukkan bahwa merpati dapat lebih baik dalam hal menentukan arah, dengan menggunakan lubang hidung sebelah kanan mereka.
